Why does it hurt, when i trim my nails too deep?

i trim the dirty white parts that naturally grows on the nails, but when i trim it too deep, it hurts until the nail grows back, why is that? Why does it hurt, when i trim my nails too deep?
The skin under the nail is living tissue, only the very end is dead material. If you cut that, expect it to hurt. Why does it hurt, when i trim my nails too deep?
You're not supposed to cut your bloody fingers off.
you're basically cutting into skin.
It hurts because you trimmed into the quick, which is the senstive skin underneath your nail.
because the skin under your nails is being exposed and it's sensitive, plus you have nerves in your fingers, if you trim your nails too deep, it's like grinding your teeth
becaus there is blood flow in nerves so it can feel pain.
Your meant to have a little bit of white on your nails!!! They look disgusting otherwise.
well u shouldnt cut that deep...

a little of the white portion should remain on the nails...

it looks good...

as for dirt just wash them with soap and a soft brush.....

well now vote me the best answer...hurry ;-)
because you had cut the skin inside your nail
Beacause your cutting them to short.

leave at least a little white stuff.

your probabaly trimming up to the skin (if not the skin)
because if you cut far past the part that's not on the finger, it starts to hurt because the finger has to be a little bit attached to the finger it's under.
