Is it possible to injure yourself whilst inserting a tampon with fake nails on?

my partner has fake nail, (the acrillic kind i think!) and she said that she scrached her self whilst inserting a tampon yesterday, and that she is very tender, could this be true? what do we do about it? She is pregnant with twins, but has a period. is this normal? Is it possible to injure yourself whilst inserting a tampon with fake nails on?
Hi Joel,

Yes, of course it's conceivable that someone could scrape them self with fake nails. Many women have scraped themselves inserting tampons just with their own regular nails.

Just have your partner apply some pure vitamin E oil to the scraped area. Vitamin E is the fastest natural healer around.

As for the period, it is not a period. Women sometimes will experience early pregnancy vaginal bleeding, often misconstrued as a period. Women cannot be pregnant and have a period at the same time.

If she is past half-way through the first trimester, no, it is not normal for her to have any signs of a blood discharge and she needs to see an OB/GYN right away...or have her go to the hospital emergency ward to be checked right away if the flow is heavy, as that could be an early warning of a miscarriage.

At any time of doubt, as to flow during early pregnancy, it is always advisable to have the woman checked as soon as possible. Of course, there shouldn't be any signs of blood after the first stage of pregnancy whatsoever.
