Hi!

You are talking about the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. The system was developed by a mother and daughter team based on Jungian psychology and the regard for human diversity outlined in Ephesians 4.

The strength of this approach is that it affirms the different giftedness as expressed in the personal preferences of people at all ranges spectrum's such as that between introversion and extroversion. It help someone not only to identify and absorb their own way of being, but to respect that of others who may be very different from them and to appreciate that the differences that make up the tapestry of humanity are its strengths when utilized harmoniously.

Having done the MBTI - you can go on to do a shadow workshop. This will help you explore in what ways you might compensate or even dysfunction if your preferred way of being is frustrated by being in the wrong career or having a dominant boss who denies the work ethic of your particular giftedness, for example.

Insight is a great thing.

Myers-Briggs
There are lots of such tests. The most famous is called the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Instrument), but that one has to be administered by a qualified person, and it usually costs something. It's also followed up by a talk with the test adminstrator.

Then there's the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. Dr. Keirsey disagreed with Isabel Myers (creator of the MBTI), so he came up with a different approach to personality -- but he uses the same four-letter codes. You can find the KTS online at the ';advisorteam'; link below.

There are also many, many other questionnaires that will give you the four-letter personality code. Not all these ';tests'; are reliable, though, Even the MBTI and KTS are only about 70 percent reliable. You can try one right away at the ';human metrics'; link below.

For lots of good information on this, check out the ';personality page'; link below.

If you continue to be interested, join my Yahoo group; it's called ';Temperament Talk.';
