who ever writes the best paragraph, i will give them best answer ( 10 points)Why does a bigger hammer make it easier to pull out nails. Please if you could write a 5 sentence paragraph?
A claw hammer is a kind of lever, the fulcrum being the point of rotation where the curved part of the hammer is against a normally flat, fixed surface--a wall, for instance. The mechanical advantage of a lever is arithmetically proportional--that is, if you double the length of the distance from the fulcrum to the point of force, you double the mechanical advantage. The mechanical advantage of a lever is the ratio of load to effort, equal to the perpendicular distance of the effort's line of action from the fulcrum divided by the distance to the load's line of action. Usually the load's line of action in a claw hammer is negligibly different for different sized hammers (since the nail head is rather close to the wall and needs to pulled out a very short distance). Thus, most of the advantage of a larger hammer is directly proportional to how much longer the handle is. This effect is quite obvious if you imagine using a hammer by holding the handle very close to the hammer head as opposed to moving your hand to the extreme end of the handle, where you would much ore easily remove the nail because of the greater mechanical advantage. Why does a bigger hammer make it easier to pull out nails. If you have not studied Mechanics and leverage, this is a very difficult question for you. If you have, you will know how to explain it is far fewer than five sentences. Sorry, I help with homework but I never do it as I don't want to encourage laziness.
No, I won't do your homework for you, but I will answer your question. A bigger hammer provides you with more leverage than a smaller hammer, more leverage means it is easier to pull out nails.
Give me a lever large enough and I will move the earth...you can make up the rest...look it up...
